Jesse Sample’s Freak of the Week airs EVERY WEDNESDAY at 6pm EASTERN only on RadioRadioX.com
This is Jesse Sample. It’s easy to forget that up until recently, survival was extremely challenging for the vast majority of people. A bad crop could mean having to watch your children starve to death. Humans and animals did the heavy lifting that kept our species from going extinct. Sometimes I imagine what it must have been like to see a steam engine for the first time. What do you think that was like?
I aspire to live the life of an artist but there are so many things that make that possible. When I want to watch the sunset along the Hudson River, I get in a 2006 Hyundai Elantra and ride along asphalt highways and across cross steel bridges so I can sit at a wooden bar and drink craft beer and watch the sun go down Browns. The magnitude of the ingenuity, imagination, and the power required for those things to exist humbles me to the point of tears. The late nights of trial and error of great men and women have allowed me the life of a king.
Thanks to all of you tuned into RadioRadioX. This is the Freak of the Week, “Industry.”
