This is Jesse Sample. Here in New York, we have at least a couple weeks every year where it’s very hot and very humid. This time of year, one might say “It’s the air you can wear.” If you spend a lot of time outside, like I do, you need to slip into another mode.

Someone like me has to abandon their usual definition of comfort and embrace a new feeling. A new comfort must be found in deeper places. I personally go quiet inside. I just hydrate and keep my levels right and move through this world under the sun’s tenacious glare.

And when the sun goes down and things cool down a bit, I go out and take in the air and rally myself to go out and do it all again tomorrow
