Week Forty-Five: Jesse Sample’s Freak of the Week “Cold Blood in Credibility Canyon”
Written by Staff on November 5, 2024
Personally, when I turn off my podcast or audiobook, and go for a late-night walk, my mind wanders to some kinder pastures. I was raised by kind hardworking people. They may have had some nominal political affiliations, but they made their coffee at home and took it to go. They patiently tolerated my know-it-all teens and twenties. They helped me when I needed it and didn’t charge me interest on the favor. They filled the spaces not intended for government.
Maybe the two candidates who are running for president have tenderness for family members or close friends, but I wouldn’t bet that they have your or my best interest at the top of their list. As I learn, grow and move through society, I’m starting to see the genius of our American system of government, however imperfect and klunky. It’s prudent to move in our roles as a citizen strategically and in accordance with our values. But no matter who wins this thing, I can 100% guarantee that they don’t care about me the way my grandmother does…or the myriad other sweet people I cross paths with every day.
These are the real political players in my life.
Thanks to all of you players deep in the game listening to RadioRadioX. This is the Freak of the Week, “Cold Blood in Credibility Canyon.”
