Sean Rowe at The Hangar on The Hudson 2/18/2022 Recap By: Art Fredette

On Friday night Sean Rowe took the stage at The Hangar on The Hudson with a quiet smile and a sure stance.  He joked about not having played the room in two years and then went right to work.  The crowd fell silent and Sean’s Johnny Cash meets Lou Rawls voice filled the room.  Accompanied by only himself on guitar Rowe ran through his own original songs and the set included covers of Leonard Cohen, John Prine and even Dolly Parton.

 

As someone who has known Sean since his teens and remembers his beginning playing open mics with his band MudFunk and his eventual rise to a national act, it was fulfilling to see him command his hometown stage, The Hangar on The Hudson is a magical room and Friday night the magic was displayed in full force.  Thanks for a great show Sean.
