If you missed the Goddamn Gallows show at Empire Underground Wednesday night then you really missed out. This was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time and I go to a lot of shows. Although I’m terrible with acronyms and I have no idea what NPK stands for, Madeline Erika Alexa Terramorte set the mood for the night. When The Hauntings hit the stage, it made me realize that we still do have some great punk rock bands in the area and I’d love so much to see a resurgence.  I congratulated them on their set and I will certainly be keeping The Hauntings in mind for future shows that I have a hand in booking. On a side note The Hauntings will be playing at Mirth Film’s Wild in the Trees Music & Skate Festival happening Oct 1st & 2nd at The Lake George Skate Plaza.

And then came Rebelmatic… these guys are fantastic performers. Sure it is hardcore punk rock but their music is groovy and danceable. I am a fan for sure. As a matter of fact Karnage actually did some breakdancing on stage. Yeah all the bandmates have cool names: Rebelmatic – is Creature- Vocals/Lyrics Alkatraz – Guitar – Karnage – Bass Ramsey Jones – Drums/ Backing Vocal.

Goddamn Gallows were Goddamn great! The instrumentation of this group is incredible who’d a known that a mandolin, upright bass and banjos could have such a strong and heavy sound? Well G.G. certainly impressed and the highlight of the night was when Rebelmatic joined them on stage for the show closer. I give this show two thumbs up and four stars!
