TICKETS ALMOST SOLD OUT!
Dark Side of the Moon was released in March of 1973 and has become more than just an iconic record, this album speaks for itself. In fact Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon was one of the most commercially successful albums of all time. But it gets better, have you ever listened to the album while watching the Wizard of Oz?
According to an article written by Susan Sliwicki at GoldmineMag.com here are the key instructions on how to achieve the proper syncing between the album and the film.
“Wait for the black and white MGM lion to appear. Once he roars for the third time, hit play on the album. To confirm the album and movie are in sync. According to eHow.com, when you see the credit “Produced by Mervyn LeRoy,” the credit should be fading amid the transition from “Speak to Me” to “Breathe.” I’ve tried it and it works.
To celebrate the 50th year of “Dark Side of the Moon” The Capital Region’s premier Pink Floyd tribute band Run Rabbit Run will be performing the album in its entirety as a full set but will also be opening the show with a set of Pink Floyd classics as well. We will also experience a “Floyd-esque” light show by Susan Preiss and live animated projections by Mikey Baish to coincide with the band’s “recreation and reimagined” set-list.
This event will be held at The Linda (WAMC’s Performing Arts Studio) this Saturday, March 4th at 8:00 pm. The Linda is located at 339 Central Ave Albany, NY 12206.
