This is Jesse Sample. There is something reassuring about the natural world. That game will forever grind on. It was here before us and will be here after us . It’s ancient and adheres to a law of its own.

It’s easy for us to think that our affairs are objectively important but we’re all part of a far greater system. The mountains near my town have been there for thousands of years and will continue to exist even after all our plot lines come to an end.

And this brings me peace. It’s okay to feel small in the grandeur of nature. Things like oceans and mountains and deserts should make you feel like a speck. It’s liberating, sometimes. The insects and birds have places to be and they can go one way or another when it comes to me. My overall sentiment might read as “Just happy to be here”
